WHO ARE WE?
Adwave is UC San Diego’s student-run competitive creative agency, going “against the tide” to develop professional skills in marketing and advertising. We are a passionate and diverse team of 30-40 students and 2 coaches, with our eyes on the prize — demystifying the most genuine ways to communicate with our clients and consumers.
Our Clients :
In the past for Adobe Creative Cloud (2019), previously for Tinder (2020), and most recently for Oculus (currently Meta Quest, 2021), Adwave annually participates in the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC), creating compelling campaigns that tackle the key objectives for each client. We spend any extra time to work on secondary clients.
What I Do :
As the production team, we adhere to brand guidelines, creating the visual direction for our youthful and free spirited campaign books. For Tinder, we reimagined their iconic spunky flame logo and vivid pink color scheme, layering subtle 3D graphic elements, for a contrast that speaks towards the campaign goals — shifting Tinder’s “hookup” culture into one that’s a bit more dimensional.
In between brainstorming fresh ideas, late night Pizookie Tuesdays at our neighborhood BJ’s, and team building workshops, we’ve built a pretty fun spread of client casebooks, viewable via our ISSUU.
